kempton-park-racecourseIn 1878 the Kempton Park Racecourse was established in Sunbury-on-Thames 16 miles West of London City Centre with superb access directly by train from Waterloo station. This beautiful location by a lake on a huge expanse of land that was part of Kempton Manor and Park such a short distance from the built up metropolis offers the 650,000 annual visitors a lush green haven in the peaceful English countryside for relaxation at non racing events as well as top class racing entertainment. A weekly market also takes place on the site in addition to an antique market held bi-monthly drawing thousands of enthusiastic visitors and contributing important revenue needed to maintain the racecourse along with all the fabulous facilities for horses, employees and the general public.

The racetrack has been made for all types of weather and floodlights permit twilight racing since 2005. The magnificent grandstand was totally overhauled in 2011 and boasts a truly breathtaking panoramic restaurant where every table has a full view of the racecourse and diners can bet from their tables which are all equipped with a plasma screen. Several bars, cafes and food outlets on the ground floor offer refreshments to visitors and with racing fixtures spread over most of the calendar months, Kempton Park is a wonderful destination for all the family. The William Hill King George VI Steeplechase is the famous feature race of the Boxing Day William Hill Festival drawing many spectators seeking a great day out in the fresh air of the pristine countryside.

Several notable feature days take place including the Easter Saturday Raceday which is geared up with fun features to enthrall racegoers of all ages, the Mascot Grand National which is a fun day where all proceeds go to charity and a spectacular Irish Night on the 10th July where attendance is huge and the atmosphere unbeatable. Ladies Day in September combines superb horse racing with elegant fashion where great prizes are awarded to the best dressed Lady and Gentleman, for best hat and lots of other fun events.
